As of this morning, applications to the fourth annual
Oculus Launch Pad are now being accepted until August 23rd, 2019. We recognize that for immersive technology to reach its full potential, we need a developer/creator ecosystem that can build and ship diverse VR experiences to the world. The Launch Pad program was designed to empower developers and creators from diverse backgrounds, ensuring they have the knowledge, tools and connections to be successful. Throughout the program, participants receive development and business focused education, 1:1 support and a number of other resources that will elevate their technical skills and understanding of the industry, and we’re excited to kick off the Launch Pad 2019 application phase.
Boot Camp
Launch Pad 2019 will kick off on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 with a two-day boot camp taking place in San Jose, California. Up to 100 professionals will come together to learn and grow through hands-on courses throughout the experience, it will then lead into this year’s
Oculus Connect 6, which will be free to attend for all Launch Pad participants. Travel support will be available to assist in travel expenses such as hotel, flights, and ground transportation, while on-site meals will also be provided throughout the two-day boot camp.

Three-Month Build Phase
Over the three-months following boot camp, ongoing development support will be available as they work to finalize their working prototype. This includes VR experts, as well as a growing online community of peers to support the Launch Pad developers. At the conclusion of this three-month period, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their creations at the Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, CA, receive feedback on their build, and guidance on next steps as they look to launch their applications.
To help a select number of Launch Pad Candidates take their concepts to the next level, all participants will have the opportunity to apply for a competitive scholarship of $5,000 - $50,000 USD, totaling up to $250,000 for the full program. See the official Launch Pad website for judging criteria and scholarship submission requirements.
