With Meta Quest 3 ushering mixed reality (MR) into the mainstream, we can’t wait to see how you unlock new ways for people to engage using blended virtual and physical spaces. As we continue delivering new capabilities that allow you to build increasingly dynamic and engaging MR and VR experiences, we remain as committed as ever to helping protect people’s data and privacy.
We share this responsibility with all developers and creators who build apps for our platform—both on the Meta Quest Store
and App Lab—and we’ve established policies like the
Data Use Checkup (DUC) to help protect people’s data throughout the vast library of experiences you’ve collectively built.
As part of our ongoing efforts to help ensure people’s data is handled appropriately,
all developers will be required to complete data handling questions as part of the DUC process starting on January 26, 2024.
Answering these questions may require you to gather information related to how and where your app manages and processes data.
Learn What You’ll Need to Complete Data Handling Questions

Protecting people’s data is a top priority, and we want to help you understand exactly what information you’ll need to successfully complete the new data handling questions. That’s why we’ve designed
Navigating the Data Handling Questionnaire, a
new course that specifically breaks down how you can prepare for each question.
By completing this course in just a few minutes, you’ll get insights directly from Meta subject matter experts and can feel confident about completing the updated DUC in January.
