You can upload new versions of your app and update its metadata at any time after your app is published to the Meta Store.
Upload updates to the production channel
When you upload a new build of a published app to the Production (Store) channel, the update gets processed immediately. If it passes the upload validator, it is automatically deployed to all users as an update. Occasionally, we will re-review your binary update.
Note: If you update the build in an app’s Production (Store) channel at the same time that you update the app metadata, the build update is applied immediately, but the app metadata changes need to be reviewed before they are updated. The content review applies only to the app metadata changes.
You can upload or copy a new version of your app to a new build in the Production (Store) channel. For more information, see Uploading Your VR Apps.
If you discover your new build has issues, replace the broken version by uploading the last-known-good version of your app as if it were a new version. This means you need to increment the build number, even if you are rolling back to an older build of the app.
Update app metadata
You can update app metadata such as screenshots, descriptions, and price. Changes to app metadata must pass our content review process before they are updated on the Store.
If you have an unapproved submission, click on the unapproved submission. Otherwise create a new submission using the Create New button at the top right.
Click on the App Metadata tab.
Click the step that you want to update (for example Name, Specs, Details, Assets, Content Rating).
Make the desired changes.
Return to the Submission tab and add an optional note in the Notes for the Reviewer field if desired.
Click Save Changes, and then Submit for Review.
To add markdown or inline media to your description
If you have an unapproved submission, click on the unapproved submission. Otherwise create a new submission using the Create New button at the top right.
Click on the App Metadata tab.
Click on the Name step.
Toggle the Use Markdown selector that’s below the Long Description section.
Use the Formatting Help link to understand the type of formatting that’s allowed.
Switch the markdown editor to Dark Mode by clicking on the Toggle Black Background link to better visualize how your description will be displayed on the Store.
You can upload audio-less MP4 video files to create auto-playing and auto-looping videos that resemble GIFs.
Images can also be used to create section headers. Be sure to localize any images or videos if you want to make them legible for other regions.
After you are done making your desired changes, click Save Changes then Start Preview to preview your PDP changes.
After verifying the changes, click Submit for Review to submit the new metadata updates for approval.
