Oculus Go Development

On 6/23/20 Oculus announced plans to sunset Oculus Go. Information about dates and alternatives can be found in the Oculus Go introduction.

Oculus Quest Development

All Oculus Quest developers MUST PASS the concept review prior to gaining publishing access to the Quest Store and additional resources. Submit a concept document for review as early in your Quest application development cycle as possible. For additional information and context, please see Submitting Your App to the Oculus Quest Store.

Create and Group Apps

This topic describes how to create an app on the developer dashboard. You must create an app and have an app ID before you can upload builds to the dashboard.

Create an App Page

To create your Oculus Go, Quest, or Rift app page, use the following steps. Multi-platform apps need separate app pages for their Rift, and Quest/Go versions.

To create an app page in the Oculus Store:

  1. Log on to the Oculus Developer Dashboard at https://developer.oculus.com/manage/.
  2. Click Create new app.
  3. Enter the name of your app. The name is permanent and cannot be changed.
  4. From Platform, select Oculus Go, Oculus Quest or Oculus Rift.

Oculus Quest will only be available as an option if you have been approved as an Oculus Quest developer. For more information, see Oculus Quest Publishing Access.

If you made a mistake naming your app, repeat the steps to create a new app using the correct name. You can delete the misnamed app from the My Apps page by clicking the X in the top-right corner of any app thumbnail.

Grouping Apps (optional)

You can use the app grouping feature to share platform settings across apps that target different Oculus devices. For more information on app groupings, see Cross-Platform Development with App Groupings.
