Avatars After Unreal Engine 4.26 (Retired)
Updated: Jul 21, 2021
Avatars will no longer be included with Unreal Engine starting with version 4.26. This is in preparation for the new Avatars that were introduced at Meta Connect.
If you are continuing to work on Avatars 1.0, we recommend that you do not upgrade past 4.25 Unreal Engine. Apps using Meta Avatar 1.0 will continue to work, but may not receive future updates and Avatars may not be user-editable.
It’s possible to continue working with the 4.25 Unreal Engine with Avatar Integration package. At this time, Meta is not able to provide support for this method.
- Download 4.25 Unreal Engine with Avatar integration.
- Copy Engine/Plugins/Runtime/Oculus/OculusAvatar and Engine/Source/ThirdParty/Oculus/LibOVRAvatar from 4.25 to 4.26.
- Resolve errors in porting plugin and Avatar to new 4.26 Unreal Engine.
