The policies and guidelines below apply to all developers using the Oculus Platform. If you are a developer using the Facebook Platform, the Facebook Platform Terms and Developer Policies apply to you.
We are excited about helping you bring your ideas to life through our Oculus development ecosystem. In order to provide the best experience for our end users, we require you to abide by the policies and guidelines below. We take these policies and guidelines seriously, and reserve the right to remove developers or apps that do not fully comply. Because these policies and guidelines may change from time to time, we encourage you to revisit this page for additional updates.
All apps must follow the Content Guidelines, which help keep the Oculus Platform safe and welcoming for our diverse user base.
The Oculus Platform Abuse Policy explains some of the types of activities that violate our Terms of Service and Code of Conduct, and some of the actions we may take in response to any violations.
All apps hosted on Oculus Platform must abide by these App Policies: Payments and Advertising; Apps That Facilitate the Installation of Other Apps; Apps that Override System Behavior; Restricted Use of Oculus Name and Logos.
Your use of any user data collected or processed through the Oculus Platform, whether directly or indirectly, is subject to this Oculus Developer Data Use Policy.
Any developer registered after October 8, 2020 will need to verify their identity, as explained more fully in our Developer Verification Policy.
Oculus currently provides several distribution options to meet the needs of your app and development process.
In addition to the App Policies, apps accepted onto the Oculus Store must also abide by these Oculus Store Policies.
Developers have the option of distributing their apps through the Release Channel to a limited number of end users.
